Ultrasonography is a safe, non-invasive procedure that has been used by medical professionals for many years. It can be performed in a doctor's office, and allows the physician to see inside the body.
Ultrasound technology provides a view of both deep and superficial venous systems. It is especially useful in diagnosing chronic venous insufficiency and varicose veins as well as arterial disease and potentially dangerous blood clots. The physician can see how the blood is flowing through the veins, and is able to identify areas where it is impaired by the effects of vein disease.
A diagnosis of vein disease can be confirmed by performing an ultrasound. The ultrasound results also provide information about specific areas that may require treatment.
At Texas Endovascular, diagnostic ultrasound evaluations are performed in our office. Drs. Fox and Hardee are both board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology and all of their sonographers are Registered Vascular Technologists (RVT). You will receive a thorough evaluation of all the veins in your legs, as well as a screening for arterial disease if necessary. Dr. Hardee or Dr. Fox will thoroughly interpret the results of your ultrasound in the office to ensure the most accurate diagnosis, discuss treatment options with you, and answer any questions you have about the treatment and recovery process.
